Details
Rick Dean Larson had come home to spend Christmas with his family in Spring Grove, Minnesota. For the past eighteen months he had been working in Scotsdale, Arizona for a drilling company. He was due to return to work in mid January of 2001. Rick never returned to work - his untimely homicide saw to that.
Rick was found dead in the back of his pick up truck on Friday, January 12, 2001. The truck was parked at the end of Fisherman`s Road, a dead end road adjacent to the LaCrosse Municipal Airport in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.
Police believe Rick was shot nearby and then placed in the back of the truck.
La Crosse, Wisconsin is situated 35 miles (56km) from Spring Grove, the nearest largest city, where most of the Spring Grove locals travel for their shopping. Rick was remodelling his house so when he was home he made several trips to La Crosse to pick up supplies.
Rick’s mother, Pat Blasgvedt said: "It (the murder) was in a remote area. This proves to me that Rick went there to meet a friend, so we believe it is likely he knew the murderer."
"It has been proven that there were no drugs or alcohol involved. The police have said that in all their interviews not one person had a bad thing to say about Rick."
"It will be 10 months on the 12th of this month (November), " Pat told CrimeNet from her home in Spring Grove. "Time is supposed to help you heal, but that`s not true. The pain gets worse with every passing day."
"Any help that anyone can give us would be very much appreciated."
