NSW father-son duo charged over armed robberies

Police have charged a father and his teenage son with multiple counts of armed robbery and break and enters along the NSW north coast.

The teenager was arrested and charged over the alleged armed robbery of a service station on June 1 2020. He was bailed to appear before a children’s court.

Further inquiries led Strike Force Nyrang investigators to a Medowie home where they rearrested the 14-year-old and a 36-year-old man on July 28 2020. The property was searched and items including clothing were seized. The pair were taken into custody.

The boy faces multiple charges of aggravated break, enter and steal in company, robbery while armed with an offensive weapon and attempted aggravated break, enter and steal.

The father also faces multiple charges including robbery while armed with an offensive weapon, attempted aggravated break, enter and steal in company, and aggravated break enter and steal.

Police will allege the pair carried out robberies of multiple businesses in May and June 2020. Both were refused bail. Strike Force Nyrang continue investigations.
